“Kazatomprom” and “Rosatom” will construct Atomic Power Station with capacity from 300 to 1200 MW in Kazakhstan. In Astana in the presence of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev  the representatives of state corporations  signed the  letter of understanding under the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The station will be built in the town of Kurchatov in the Eastern-Kazakhstanskaya region. As the head of “Rosatom” Sergey Kirienko has specified, the exact technical characteristics of the reactor will be determined during half of the year. All necessary documentations will be prepared in a year more. Referring to Mr. Kirienko the average cost of the energy unit with capacity of 1000MW will be about $ 5 billion. Atomic Power Station in Kazakhstan will use water moderated and water cooled reactors designed in Russia. There water is used as moderator and coolant.
